Kashmir, once the summer retreat of the Mughals and the British, is the legendary paradise being visited by tourists for its scenic beauty and climate. Stay in a Kashmir houseboat for a unique experience. Visit the beautiful Mughal Gardens and pick up exquisite artifacts made out of walnut wood, paper machine handicrafts and visit a carpet weaving factory. You may also stay at picturesque Pahalgam and Gulmarg. |
| Day 01 |
Srinagar
Arrival at Srinagar Airport. Upon arrival meeting & assistance and transfer to deluxe houseboat. Afternoon enjoy a shikara ride on Dal Lake visiting Char Chinar, floating vegetable gardens etc. and witness walnut wood carving and paper machine making demonstration. Evening free for shopping. Overnight stay at deluxe houseboat. |
| Day 02 |
Srinagar - Sonmarg (83 kms 2 ½ hrs drive)
Full day excursion to Sonmarg (Golden Meadow) by road. Sonamarg lies in Sindh Valley surrounded by mountains and meadows full of flowers. It is also the base for some interesting treks to the high altitude of Himalayan Lake. Then proceed back to Srinagar for night halt. Overnight stay at deluxe houseboat. |
| Day 03 |
Srinagar - Gulmarg (60 Kms 2 hrs drive)
Drive to Gulmarg, the Meadow of Flowers, 2730 mts. It has delightful ski slopes and the highest 18 hole golf course of the world. Enroute from Tenmarg to Gulmarg the view is magnificent. Enjoy Gandola ride. You can also take a (optional) sledge ride on the snow covered slopes. Then drive back to Srinagar. Overnight stay at deluxe Houseboat. |
| Day 04 |
Srinagar - Pahalgam (90 Kms 3 hrs drive)
After early breakfast drive to Pahalgam (Valley of Shepherds), drive through Saffron fields, visit Awantipura ruins of a 1100 yrs old temple of Lord Vishnu built by King Awantiwareman. Drive through the pine forest along Lidder River. Evening drive back to Srinagar, Overnight stay at deluxe houseboat. |
| Day 05 |
Srinagar
After breakfast proceed for the local sightseeing of Srinagar covering Mughal Gardens, Shalimar Garden, carpet weaving factory and Shankracharya Temple. Overnight stay at deluxe houseboat. |
| Day 06 |
Srinagar
After breakfast check-out from the house boat & transfer to the airport to connect flight to your next destination. |
